Concordia Walz Human Performance Complex

Sinclair Hille Architects designed the state-of-the-art Walz Human Performance Complex for Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. The project was the fulfillment of a 10-year vision to provide advanced recreation and athletic performance facilities. The primary functional components of the building are organized around a gallery which serves as an events/reception area as well as Athletic Hall of Fame. The facility includes an indoor tennis and 200-meter track multi-purpose fieldhouse, a state-of-the-art performance gymnasium with upper and lower deck seating, and upgraded sports medicine facilities. Ancillary spaces include academic classrooms, upgraded locker facilities, a human performance laboratory, team meeting rooms, and athletic offices. The Walz Complex provides first-class event space and exceptional performance and training facilities for Concordia’s Athletic Programs.

I enjoyed working with SHA on the Canopy Street Project.  It was a very complex project which required both large scale design thought as well as a focus on small details. Their professionalism impressed me as well as all of the other clients in the project from restaurants, to hotel operations through condo buyers, SHA continued to move the project forward and solve problems with all in mind.  As a licensed architect myself I really appreciated their willingness to partner with me and listen to my design ideas while improving the direction time and time again. Quite simply, Canopy Street would not have been nearly as successful without SHA’s talented staff.
