402 Creamery Tenant Improvement

402 Creamery

402 Creamery Tenant Improvement

402 Creamery is a local, homemade, ice cream shop in Lincoln Nebraska. Over the course of this year their business has been expanding, which included opening a location in the Fallbrook neighborhood in Lincoln, Nebraska. The new 1,552 SF space includes a serving station, indoor / outdoor seating, freezer spaces and workspaces.

The client’s goal was to create a space that highlights 402 Creamery’s vibrant blue and fun branding while also embracing the character of the Fallbrook neighborhood.

Design choices were made to highlight the serving station by using colorful paints and tiles in the most important areas. The line for the serving station wraps efficiently out of the way of seating areas. The storage and work zones are conveniently connected to the serving area and not in the way of customer seating zones. The interior environment is also intended to emphasize the 402 creamery brand. The blue accent color was selected to match the blue pint colors of the ice cream. Design inspiration for the beautiful tile on the cash wrap was driven by the Fallbrook neighborhood wavy logo and gives the appearance of ice cream.

Because the building is very long light colored finishes were chosen to brighten up the space and bring natural light all the way through the building. Knowing the space would be used to prepare and enjoy ice cream – it was designed to be easily cleanable and easy to maintain. Outdoor seating was also incorporated which faces the park and provides a beautiful view of the landscaping and Fallbrook main street.

In order to adapt the space within the existing structure steps were taken to minimize sound transfer to th eadjoining tenant spaces.

The Fallbrook neighborhood has greatly enjoyed the local ice cream shop and looks forward to many sweet treats to come.
