Bavitz Celebrates 30 Years
Liz Bavitz, AIA, LEED AP, Principal Architect and Project Manager for Sinclair Hille Architects celebrated 30 years with Sinclair Hille Architects on May 18, 2023. She was hired by the Sinclair Hille Founders, John Sinclair and Jim Hille in 1993 when the firm was in their 12th year of operation.
Located then in the Grainger Building, 105 N. 8th Street, Liz became part of a staff of 15 employees. She was the 2nd female CAD technician of the firm. Her very first big project was the Lincoln East High School science addition.
Volunteering has always been important to Liz, and she has served in multiple board of directors’ roles for a variety of non-profit organizations including the Food Bank of Lincoln, Friends of Lied, the Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation, and BraveBe Child Advocacy Center. Liz was a member of Leadership Lincoln Class XX and is a current member of the American Institute of Architects.
Liz's most favorite moment at Sinclair Hille was in her interview with her mentor John Sinclair. "During my interview John had asked his partner Jim Hille to join us. Jim walks in quietly and simply says to me, ‘We need two things, people who can put buildings together and people who can give great client service.’ Those words stuck with me to this day. It is what it means to work here and what I strive for every day.”
Liz enjoys the people she gets to work with including her team and Sinclair Hille's amazing clients.
